English Sweet Peas are delighted to name their new sweet pea J.J. Theobald.
Named in honour and loving memory of a wonderful son and brother.
Sweet Pea J.J. Theobald, bred by Phil Johnson, is a Spencer type with long stems, large frilly flowers, and an eye-catching purple colour. It is a vigorous, self-clinging variety, reaching over two metres in good conditions.
It was first selected in 2016 from a sport of ‘Milly’, a deep magenta Sweet Pea. It took seven years to refine and stabilise but has been worth the wait. J.J. Theobald is an intense shade and prolific bloomer.
